Podcast: High school transitions, time management, pastor’s kid goes to a different youth group

Posted on September 12, 2009 by Tim Schmoyer | Print This Post Print This Post

LIVE Youth Ministry TalkToday’s featured guest had to reschedule due to sick kids at home, so instead we had a laid-back, open form discussion on several youth ministry topics. We asked questions, shared stories, sought advice, and talked about real-life ministry issues. We had a great time!

Some of the things we talked about:

  • High school graduates who don’t leave youth group
  • Managing time between ministry and family
  • Knowing what to do next when all the work seems to be done
  • When your pastor’s teenager attends a different church’s youth group
  • And a lot more…

Next week’s discussion

September 18: Next week LIVE YM Talk is with guest, Mark Matlock, who will lead us in a discussion about how to use improvisational techniques for group learning. This will be a pretty cutting-edge discussion about how to great a group that can self-teach and self-direct itself in the process of self-discovery teaching. The NYWC will begin to use some of these techniques this year, so join us to hear a bit more how you can use it for your youth group, too!
