Good thoughts. We've done it all with my group: attendance rosters, sign-in sheets, small group rosters, etc. I totally agree with you. Caring leaders observing who's there and who's not is the way to go. I recently read (I think it was on Kurt Johnston's blog) that Willow Creek's MS program has thumbprint scanners for their group. WHAT! That's incredible. I'm not knockin' it. It's just exceptional.
