Podcast: Working with teens who struggle with eating disorders

Posted on September 13, 2008 by Tim Schmoyer | Print This Post Print This Post

Yesterday in our LIVE Youth Ministry Conversation Dave Huizing from Word of Life in New York taught us a lot about eating disorders and how to work with teenagers who struggle with it. Out of his own personal experiences with his daughter and formal training in counseling, he gave lots of good information that help youth workers understand it a bit more and know how to be the first responders when a teen brings this issue to our attention. Among other things, he gave good advice on confidentiality, recommended resources, and scripture passages to use. If you’d like to talk with him personally on this matter, he made his email address publicly available for anyone who would like to do so: dhuizing@wol.org.
